St John’s has a long history of service within our parish and outreach to our community.

East End Refugee Committee: St John’s is a founding member of the East End Refugee Committee (EERC), a group of local churches of various denominations that participate in Canada’s Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program. Our parishioners have welcomed a number of families, helped them to resettle, and provided financial support.

Anglican Church Women: The ACW is an umbrella organization for various active groups in the parish. The Chancel Guild prepares the sanctuary for worship. The Norway Group sponsors Sunday coffee hour, and provides food and refreshments for parish events. It also raises funds for the education of children in Africa, and invites people to contribute items for community programs such as Covenant House, Out of the Cold Program, Moorelands Camp and Kids After-school Program, and the Red Door Shelter. Please click here for further details. The Prayer Shawl Ministry team knits shawls which are offered to those who are sick, elderly, or in need.

Children’s Ministry: Our children participate in outreach projects such as sending cards to shut-in parishioners, bake sales for children who suffer from chronic illness, and much more. Please click here for further details about Children’s Ministry.

Community Groups: St John’s offers a home where local community groups can meet. These groups include Scouts, Guides, Beavers, Venturers and Rovers, and Alcoholics Anonymous.
