Life Milestones

Baptism:
Baptism is one of the two sacraments given to us in the Gospels. For people of any age, it marks entry into full membership in the Christian community. The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated six times a year at St. John’s. Preparation sessions are required for those bringing children for baptism and for adults seeking baptism for themselves. Please contact clergy or the church office to request baptism.

Confirmation: Confirmation candidates reaffirm the vows made by them or on their behalf at baptism and commit themselves to the Christian faith. Confirmation is most frequently undertaken by young adults, and preparation sessions are required. Please contact the church office for information about the next session.

Weddings: Those who wish to be married at St. John's are requested to give at least two months’ notice and arrange to meet with one of the clergy before making any firm plans.

Funerals: Family or friends of one who has recently died are encouraged to contact the clergy as soon as possible. This will enable them to provide grief support and, if desired, make funeral arrangements. Please remember that it is appropriate for a Christian funeral to take place in the church.
