Our Children’s Ministry Mission

At St. John’s, children and families of every kind belong in the life of the church. We create spaces where children can explore faith, encounter Scripture, ask questions, pray, create, and discover what it means to follow God together. We seek to nurture living faith that connects Sunday mornings with everyday life, and to help children discover how God is already at work in their lives and in the world around them.

Sunday Morning Program

Our Children’s Ministry gathers each Sunday during the 10:30 am worship service, offering children space to learn, wonder, play, and connect, with special programs and opportunities throughout the year. Children return to the nave in time to join their families for the Eucharist.

Our nursery is available for infants and toddlers throughout the service. This space includes age-appropriate play materials, a changing table, and family-friendly snacks, and is staffed by a dedicated nursery attendant. 

Our youngest are also always welcome to remain in the main service with their families. Our Play & Praise area, at the north side of the nave, offers children a space to play and engage while remaining among the worshipping community.

Our facility is fully accessible, and we welcome children with a wide range of abilities, needs, and ways of participating. We want every child and family to find a place where they can belong, participate, and grow.

Our Children’s Ministry is supported by a wonderful team of committed ministry partners who share time, gifts, and care with our children and families. Together, we create welcoming and engaging spaces where children can explore faith and grow as part of the community of St. John’s.

All members of our Children’s Ministry team are carefully screened through the Diocese of Toronto’s Screening in Faith program. We are always glad to welcome new people who would like to share their gifts with this ministry. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Sara here.
