Lenten Study Program – Signs of Life: During the season of Lent, we will be gathering on Monday evenings at 6:00 in the Prideaux Room in the basement for this 5-part Lenten study program. From 6:00 until 6:45, a light meal will be served at no cost. We’ll aim to begin each discussion shortly after 6:45 and wrap up 8:00 at the latest. Learn more here.
Preaching Series – Living the Baptismal Promises: From September 2019 through April 2020, St. John’s will be welcoming a different guest preacher each month as we unpack the promises of the baptismal covenant and what they mean for Christian discipleship. The sermons will be preached at the 10:30 communion services on Sunday mornings. Further information can be found here.
Confirmation Preparation: Beginning in the new year, Benjamin will be offering preparation for candidates seeking to be confirmed when Bishop Andrew visits on April 19th, 2019 (mark the date!) At Confirmation, candidates re-affirm for themselves the promises made at baptism on their behalf by parents and godparents. In addition to being present for the guest preachers in our series on the baptismal promises, candidates will be asked to participate in 3-5 sessions. The form of the sessions will be determined depending on the age and number of candidates. For more information to express interest, please email the Rev Benjamin Gillard.
Spiritual Direction: If you would like to discuss meeting with the Rev. Benjamin Gillard for individual spiritual direction, please feel free to reach out to him via email.
Adult Education: This year we would like everyone to engage with the Preaching Series described above so that a conversation about our faith may grow among us.
Taizé Pilgrimage for Young Adults (18-29): Young adults between 18-29 are invited to participate in an inter-parish pilgrimage to Taizé from May 15-24. Participating parishes include St. John’s Norway, St. Peter & St. Simon’s, St. Bartholomew’s, and the Redeemer. Please contact the Rev.
